I totally agree with you, if there was a way to bring all the knowledge and ideas together, the vision of total ST emulation probably would be realized.

The problem with emulation is, has been and will probably always be those "special" hardware features, such as the YM2149 of the ST and the "copper" of the Commodore A***a. What you actually has to do is emulate the function of every single device connected to the system bus without compromising. Then you WILL be able to run anything that's known to run on an ST in your emulator (including any TOS).
