As Shalroth originally said, the best way, or at least the cheapest way, would be to use a bog-standard Serial / Null Modem cable and do it that way!
I have done it to my Windows PC's and to the Linux PC's and they all talk perfectly well!
I have found it to be so reliable, that I never did bother to directly connect to the NET with the TT, and instead, I use CAB/Stik and simply talk to the Linux PC, which in turn is talking to the Windows PC, which in turn is the only PC I have with a Modem, and I get great results!
