Specifically, it's exactly the same as the Apple Mac's LocalTalk port, which was an RS423 port. The Beeb had RS422, and I have no idea what the differences are.
Interestingly - you can go out and buy an Apple Mac specific Modem or printer, and run it via the LAN port. This works on the TT as well - I've tried it.
You could get your falcy to talk to a macintosh network using STiK/STiNG or MiNTnet to run TCP/IP over the LAN port but unless you can find a LocalTalk adaptor for the PC, then it won't do a lot.
