I hope this will help.
If you have more than one drive, make sure that the ID's are different, and its best to have the boot drive on 0, the next one on 1, the next on 2 and so on...
HD DRIVER is ok with any ID's but AHDI needs to find ID0 then ID1 then ID2... and if you have nothing on ID0, it wont bother looking on ID1 and so on ( I think? - its been a while since I bothered with AHDI )
Termination only needs to be on one of the drives, so make sure both are not terminated as this can cause troubles on some drives.
The bar thingys you are asking about ARE the terminators yes.
They are SIL RESISTORS ( Single-In-Line )
They can blow/break so if you still have trouble accessing a HD, sometimes it might be worth considering that these may have broken, as they have on some of my drives over the years.
Also note, that it is also possible, that some HDs simply do not like working with other HD's
I am not quite sure why this is, and even if you follow the SCSI rules to the letter, they just do not like each other???
Sometimes you can say swap their ID's over, and they will work that way, sometimes it will work, sometimes not, so it is worth remembering that just before you decide to throw a HD against the wall ( Experience )
