Well, as I said, I used ExtenDOS for quite some time now, and originally, I never did manage to get MetaDOS to run the CDROM, so I eventually gave up, and bought ExtenDOS instead, but even that didnt like my CDROM.
ExtenDOS still cannot read a whole load of my CDROMs to this day, and I used the PC to read some of the disks, but so far, I have not had a single CD fail to read 100% perfectly with Spin.
Not only that, but I need to have access to Long Filenames on a CDROM, so ExtenDOS is useless to me there, while Spin does it nicely.
AS to the config file, whats the difference there? - All CD Drivers need one, as does your ExtenDOS, and they are all setup just the same as each other, I am not too sure whether there is any difference apart from the BOS and DOS files.
They all work like
*BOS, BOSfile, (Vdrive):(SCSI-ID)
*DOS, DOSfile, (VDrive),(LDrive)
And thats it!
ExtenDOS, MetaDOS, and BetaDOS all do that, so you cannot say anything about the CONFIG.SYS File? - Or is it the name you dont like?
Until just a week or so, I would have agreed with you 100%, but it took me much less than one hour to realise, that SpiN is far superior to ExtenDOS, and from me ( An ExtenDOS fan ) thats saying a lot.
Each to their own though.
If you like ExtenDOS, then you should keep using it, why change?
IF I didnt like long filenames, and I was happy in not being able to read a load of my CDROMs, then I too would still be using it.
