Im not sure about rewiring the mice, it might be a bit more difficult than that because the PC mice are rs232 serial (which is +12 and -12v pulses), and Atari/Amiga mice I think are 5v ttl pulses.
You have 3 options as far as I can tell.
1. Get the serial mouse driver. This allows you to use a PC mouse plugged into the serial port on your ST, but I think it only works with GEM programs.
2. Find an amiga mouse supplier, and find a mouse that has an amiga/atari switch on it.
3. Goto mario becrofts page and purchase a converter. These allow you to use a PC mouse AND keyboard with your atari.
