1. Not all IDE drives work, but I've yet to find a 2.5" that doesn't (only heard of specific 3.5" ide's that doesn't work).
2. There were some minor programs shipped with the Falcon, I'd say not much to have. A couple of crap games etc.
3. IDE CD-roms can be used. But you need a driver for both IDE and SCSI cdroms (why did you think only SCSI needed a driver?). SPiN/MetaDos is the best I've seen: http://www.muenster.de/~reschke/soft_e.html
I've not used IDE cd myself, but I know that others have.
4. Ethernet was possible, but the interfaced have sold out. The next chance seems to be the SCSI ethernets coming from NewZealand (http://gem.win.co.nz/mario/hardware/).
5. ST/e games are not very compatible. Running a program called "Backward" make tons more games to run.
6. I've not seen the Falcon manuals on the internet. But I really think you can operate the desktop without it.
7. You can use the old SCSIdrive instead of IDE drive. There is a 10 sec bootup slowdown without IDEdisk though. The Falcon internal PSU isn't very powerful, I wouldn't recomend to use it for external disks, but of course it is possible...
8. Internal SCSI ? AFAIK only the C-LAB Falcon MK-II and MK-X have that, which model do you have?
