Hm... Does it have the figures "02-02"
printed below the "1772"? IF so, it´s fully
capable of handling 1.44MB drives on its own. ;)

Just replace the 720 drive with an 1.44 from
any old ´386 or ´486, and switch 8/16 MHZ to
the 1772, to toggle DD/HD disk handling...

I´ve done this to more than 40 ST/E´s,
and it worked just fine every time.

Just got an old ST in, the first one ever
I´ve seen with a 1772 WITHOUT that "02-02",
so I might buy the chip. Name a fair price?
Maybe You´re looking for some parts, for a trade?
