That seems very likely...I've never been a fan of the amiga (because I was an atarian) but I got one recently because what the hell does the old rivalry mean anymore?! The hardware was cool, it's a very capable machine with all its custom chips, and I suppose you know it was designed by Atari?? Most amiga owners cry when they learn that!!
And I've seen people with Fuji and Jaguar tattoos (what's wrong with a plain old fashioned dragon? No standards anymore etc.) and as cool as that looks, I think it's a little bit silly - like getting a band name tattoed.
I'd love to see the amiga in the mainstream market again, that would be good for the industry. The only main platforms these days are Wintel and Macintrash and I'd love to see AmigaOS or even TOS or RISC-OS make a comeback somehow, at least in settop boxes or PDAs (An ST- or Amiga- based PDA would kick arse!!)
So yeah, like any scene there are nice and nasty people, it must be the amiga owners I've conversed with have just had this holier-than-thou attitude because they've spent so much money on their machines and they have a superiority complex! hell, I've only got an A1200!! (but I did try to get an A4000T on eBay one time, I tried really hard...
Hope some of that made something resembling sense...
