The Jaguar has 2Mb memory but how much can a cartrdge hold? I think when someone develops a rom that could load Linux into the Jag and some memory it could be very fast.
I think a special cartridge with some extra electronics would make a nice settop box from the Jaguar it even could surf the web I think. You need a cartridge with 10Mbps ethernet and IDE for a harddisk, a laptop Harddisk could fit almost inside the cartridge...
For the 10Mbps ethernet there are some boards you could buy, only have to connect the vcc/gnd address lines, 8-bit data bus and ready. I have seen these being used by a c64 and I am now busy to build a complete ethernet system for the 8-bit Atari. The Jaguar is much more powerfull so it could be done... Any developers outthere that have some Ideas...
