But if the future of Atari software is on emulation platforms, what's the point in buying a PC or Mac to run Atari software when we could run PC or Mac software on our PC or Mac? The temptation would be too great I think.
And what's this about compatibility? I can't run Cubase Score properly on any emulator, but I can on my ST, TT, Mega and Falcon, I'm sure it would work with a Medusa or Hades as well.
I want to run Mac software. I have a mac emulator (vMac and Basilisk work very well) but the best way to run Mac software is on a mac. It's the same with Atari machines...I can play 2600 games full screen on my 15" TFT monitor with Stella, but I'm *not going to*, I'll only ever play them on my 2600 and a plain old TV set, it feels better.
It's similar with clones - the clones are the nearest thing we have to new original Atari hardware, unless Infogrames want to let Milan-computer use 'Atari Computer' as a brand name (that's a good idea actually) then it's close enough.
