The same for me, only that I have a SB 64 PCI!
(Windows 98 2nd Ed, DirectX 8, newest soundcard-driver)

The samples are a bit better now, but the YM-sounds are still muffled and you hear pops and clicks from time to time.

Apparently this version can even run Amberstar, but you have to turn off the music!
