Well, it's pretty easy in fact.
If you need to read ST disks, you can try in your PC under Win98: if you can read the disk, it's ok, they are MSDOS compatible. If you can't, they're still in ST format, so you just need to convert them using a little utility (I can't remember a name.. so if anyone can answer, it would be cool). The difference resides in the boot sector.
When you'll be able to read the ST disks with your PC, if you have to run ST programs, just grab an emulator (there are many available, just search for them on atari.org: i.e. PaCifist (Old and DOS based), Steem, WinSTon, SainT or even MagicPC (commercial).. and so on).
