I had the same problem with a hard disk in my PCs, it seemed to come that the screws weren't tight enough to the PC case, causing the hard drive to Tick, Tick, Tick... and preventing the PC from booting.

Be sure the hard disk has a good contact with the metal case of your tower, I think it needs to be grounded or something..
