Your not the only one, i fear, who has left their ST to rot in some dusty cupboard for 5-10 years only to pull it back out realising the amount of fun we used to have writing stuff for this thing. I used to write menus and other things in 68k (ie. half a spyhunter clone :-), and I used GFA quite a bit and even STOS a couple of times. The first GFA prog I wrote was a virtual blue box / programmable tone generator that you could use for phone phreakin and stuff like that.
Anyway, you are right about the magic number i suspected it was $1234.
I gotta go find a monitor adapter for my MSTE / phillips CM8833 so I can load up some old asm code...
