thanks, darren. what is real dos mode? i haven't been able
to get makedisk to do anything other than give me a list of
vague descriptions of commands. no real documentation.
i'm still a bit new to all this emulation and haven't quite come
to grips with what disk images are and how they work. any
documentation sources would be appreciated. also could
use a source of general description of the emulation process.
my sense of it so far is that a piece of software makes my
pc look and work like my old st. but to do that i need another
piece of software that copies my st disks to some location
the first piece of software can access. another thing i don't
quite get yet is whether this process makes my disk generally
available to the pc or if it is only accessible through the
emulator software. what i need is to be able to grab the old
files and basically convert them to .wav files. can't do it if
my system can't recognize the st formatted disks. any help
is greatly appreciated.

thanks again,
BabaG
