The Fan was put there to aid the cooling of the planned second processor boards, like the Sack Falcon Speed 286 board (Atari planned to have 386 boards blah which might have needed cooling).

The 030 chip in my TT runs twice as fast as in the falc and *it* doesn't need cooling either.
