A lot depends on the drives; IF one of the A8 is a Doubled 1050 or Indus or any 180K unit AND the Word unit is an x86 PC with a 5.25 floppy, then AtariLink by HiasSoft can read a file from your A8 disk.

IF one of the A8 drives is a Happy, it can write data to a PC 180K SSDD 5.25 floppy.

Other possibilities are the SIO2PC or APE cables allowing the 800 to store data directly onto the PC drives.

I have an Atari 800 with two disk drives and no modem. What is the easiest and safest way to convert my Atariwriter files to Word?

Thanks.
Fred
