Just a quick thought.
I have been messing about with the NEC all bloody night now ( Taken time out to watch Footie & SouthPark ) and I have some interesting notes here.
Ok, I have one HD here, that is the cause of some problems...
First of all, get this for well weird...
Whatever ID this drive is, the next Drive up, cannot access its second partition?
For example:-
I had it as C: ( ID0 )
I put a 540MB Drive as ID1, Partitioned it as 120+400MB, but the 400 would not read?
I then thought it was too big, and did a few 100MB Partitions instead!
The first read ok, and so did the third, fourth fifth and sixth, but not the second???
I then changed its ID to 2 and it read them all perfectly
I added another drive as ID1 and it went ok, but when I partitioned that drive with 2 partitions,. the second one would not work?
I did some moving about, changing IDs and so on, and every single test, it was the second partition after that drive????
Ok, so the end of it is back to the CDROM.
Ok, ExtenDOS under TOS would read the drive ok, but not under MAGIC, SPIN will NOT read the drive at all now - EH??
I took the offending drive off, and the CD READ PERFECTLY
So, how about trying that?
Have you tried to get the CD Driver running on a floppy system?
Its pretty much the same thing except if the CD Drier needs the Hd Driver to find the ROM of course!
The offending Model of the HD?
Erm, IBM WDS-100
