The TOP LINK is a GeSoft Adapter.
If you check further down the forum, you will notice that the same issue has been raised.
I have TOPLINK, and while the crappy CDROMS are reading both DATA and AUDIO, the good ones are not.
I think what it all boils down to is simply the age of the adapters?
Maybe that they work better with older CDROMS perhaps?
CDAUDIO need certain commands to get them to play, and maybe newer ones do it in a different way?
Only a thought... its probably wrong of course, but thats pretty much how it looks from my side.
The best way I have found, is that with the TT I have a proper SCSI port, and to also connect the TOPLINK to the ACSI port, and see what I can do with which drive, but the results have been very similar with the exception that the NEC wont play audio at all on either SCSI or ACSI, but it will play audio through a SCSI card on the PCs
Oh, no, while I remember, I can play AUDIO through the NECs when I open the disk up and it shows up the PRG and WAV files that SPIN lets me see, if I click on them, the disk plays, but the CD Player programs do not!
weird, but try that!
