The Portfolio (or Pofo as it's affectionately known) is a pocket-sized PC-compatible computer. It has 128KB of RAM which can be configured as storage and main memory.

The operating system is MS-DOS, stored in ROM along with some PIM applications, a text editor and a Lotus compatible Speadsheet. The screen is capable of displaying a 40x8 screen, but can simulate a full-sized 80x25 character screen with auto or manual scrolling.

Expansion is handled by a fully implemented ISA bus with a miniature connector, allowing the addition of a serial port, parallel port or memory expander.

There's a slot for memory cards, both SRAM and Flash type. Additional software can be loaded onto the Pofo through the built-in file transfer cable and the relevant cable (null modem/staright through parallel). Much PC software from the period will run without issue.

Power is supplied by an external 3V adaptor, or 3x AA (LR6) alkaline batteries. Typical run time is well over 100 Hours (Cf. 40 for Psion Series 5, 30 for Palm IIIe, 20 for Cambridge Z88, 3(!) for Hewlett Packard LX600).

I used my pofo for taking notes from lectures, and transferred them to my PC to pretty them up. It can even drive a printer directly (if you have an interface), I've impressed many people by printing to a Laser printer from a tiny handheld PC...
