Wow, I can't believe I'm reading this post from you Fat Rakoon!!!! :))
Now talking seriusly, I think you should keep all your Ataris (as I do). Why?
- Because they are nice machines, you can use them for many things (I use my 1040STfm for Midi and games, the 800XL for gaming, so the lynx and the 2600, etc)
- Because they're getting harder to get. And some day they will cost millons (well, Im not sure about this...)
- Because they're different to todays standards... every time I put my fingers on a Atari machine, I feel kind special and people says "Hey! there goes the Atari guy!" :)
- Because, I dont know about you, But I have a very special feeling to the Atari computers. The first keyboard I ever touched was the one of a 520ST, more than 12 years ago... when I was a kid.
- Neither a PC or a Mac can give me the satisfaction of playing Lotus III, or Rick Dangerous on the Atari.
Well my friend, I don't know if the Atari computer pltaform will re-born (we're doing all our efforts for that on TAIO), but there's always a shine of light at the end of the tunnel. So, keep your Ataris, use them and be proud of being a Atari user.
