I think that he could mean DX8 support in Wine. Wine runs alot of windows games now and it wouldn't surprise me if it did. Correct me if I'm wrong...

=) DX is MS, and Linux isn't. Therefore you would have copyright infrigment unless you payed off MS with lots of money...
