Ok, How many channels in the original?

Depending on the original, I am talking many many files here, usually, they go anywhere from just a few tracks, all theway up to the biggest which is 128 ( No, its not usefull, but its been done just because we could! )

Well, thats just it isnt it?

Midi itself is limited to 16 Channels per device, but with multiple outputs, we have no problem with using more. 54 is out ceiling though, so wanting each program on a seperate track, this means that our limit would be 54 tracks.... Plenty for most of the files of course.

I am using CuBase 3.1

The thign is, that when ever I import a Midifile into CuBase, they come out with just 16 tracks regardless?

Its not CuBase that is the proble, because I can happily import a 64 track midifile that I save in BreakThru and it comes into CuBase with 64 tracks, so I think its the PC's that havbe the prolem.

Hence needing a seperate program to do it.
