Several months ago, I thought it would be nice to have a registry of as many Atari users as possible.
I started a rough web page and form for the registry but it never got finished or uploaded due to my work schedule. It contained optional fields where you could enter your name, e-mail address, machine specs, OS(es), extra hardware, software, etc. as well as mention if you'd volunteer to debug certainhardware/software.
It was inspired by The Linux m68k Registry...
http://www.linux-m68k.org/Registry/atari.html
and the Atari Jaguar Directory...
http://www.atarijaguardirectory.com/
The benefits of such a registry?
- converse with other users
- find users in your area
- ask others about hardware/software for troubleshooting
- satisfy general curiousity
- find users for hardware/software debugging
- find out just how many Atari users are out there (may be useful as market information for developers)
Who thinks the Atari 16/32 Registry is a good idea? Perhaps it should become a reality?
