I've read everything I can find on the Net.. and there is a document in the Atarihacks archive for the Mega4000 adaptor using the ET4000 card. It gives the hardware construction details about making the ISA adaptor to plug into the Mega. There is some information also on the site about making a Megabus for the standard ST.. so I assume that it could all fit together.
The driver software would appear to be the big sticking point.. but in the MEGA4000 readme file it has a section on it at the bottom... and it states that the NVDI replacement from germany will drive the card. (I think I remember that the hades has the option of ATI or ET4000 cards?) It looks like it will drive it at standard VGA resolutions with colors up to the limit available on the 1Meg of card memory... but I make this assumption only because I looked at the SVGA.inf file included.. so I could be wrong.
I've been thinking about a graphics upgrade for ages.. and I notice Mario Becroft made the Galaxy card and wrote a fvdi driver.. so I've been looking at that.. it is a free VDI so I think its the best one to write a driver for so far... but NVDI has nice device support for other things like cheap printers.. only its commercial.. but it might be the way to go for now.
Has anyone used NVDI + ET4000 + ISA ADAPTOR does it work?
