I do have a listing of all instructions in
all 3 of them, just canīt find it right now.
Now, could the OS be rewritten so it donīt
use those instruction, but use the new 060-
specific ones? I know that non of the
old Atari softs would work then, but hey, the
new machine could have BOTH 4.04 AND a 060-
specific OS in the ROMīs, no problem. Then
just swap 030/40/060 CPU cards, to run either
Falcon apps or the new hardware specific soft
that we would have to write anyway, IF we
want to use the 060īs speed ability all the way. I think that would be a totally new
experience, we could make an *extremely* fast
system, here!
We could as well place the ROMs directly ON
the CPU cards, he he... Change processor and
OS in the same action. Would be perfect for
those who want to experiment with other CPUīs
like the Coldfire or G3/G4, just fix the OS
so it suites the CPU, and plug it all in!!
Of course the MB must have fast enough RAM,
BUS and chip set, to cope with any CPU...
I donīt know, can a computer be more flexible?
BTW, Swede eh? Wanna join the TOSter H/W team?
