First of all, if I were you, I would ask to some German shops, like Seidel (www.seidel-soft.de), Mucs (www.mucs.com) or the Italian Emmesoft (www.emmesoft.com) for a used Falcon.

For your multisync monitor, try the famous Blow-Up video card (about 25 US$). It's a little box to be connected to the Falcon Video Out and to the monitor input; it should work.

The choice of a OS depends on what applications you want to run on your computer. It's difficult to give some advice without knowing what your system is going to be tailored for.

For most single-tasking applications, 4 MB ram are still enough. In any case, I wouldn't spend any money for a simple memory expansion. I would rather buy an accelerator card, which for some more money gives you acceleration AND a bigger memory expansion (new DIMMs and SDRAM cost much less than the old ST SIMMs - give a look to Centek's website [www.centek.fr] for CenturboII and Core Design's one [http://titan-bss.co.uk] for Tempest).

The rear SCSI port is a 50 pin SCSI-II interface. It works great with all the media I've connected to it, including SCSI-I dirves (Zip100, Syquest44, ...).

Finally, finding an ethernet card for a TOS computer is almost impossible. If you should find one, please tell me where. The only information about an existing card was given to me by Emmesoft, but the card itself (i.e. without installing costs) was very expensive (about 200 US$) ...

Ciao

Corrado
