Currently you can purchase:
from Milan Computer
Milan 040 - ISA and PCI slots
Milan 060 - same hardware as above, but faster
from Medusa Computer
Hades 040 - ISA and PCI slots
Hades 060 - same as above, except speedy
The two computers above can be fitted with all sorts of hardware. Milan computers can use TV tuner cards. Hades can use StarTrack DSP cards. Both can use SoundBlaster-based sound cards and ATI Rage graphics cards (PCI). Not too shabby.
Medusa Computers is developing the Pegasus. It is to be a Coldfire V4e powered system clocked at 333MHz with full USB and AGP support. The release date is set to be sometime in the summer 2002.
Milan Computers was designing a Milan II, which was to be 68060 powered, but since the chips are difficult to purchase (I don't think they're manufactured anymore) and really, really expensive, the project was canned.
Why anyone would want to develop another 680x0 system is beyond me. The chips are unavailable (or soon to be, except for the slower ones for embedded devices) and a whole slew of Atari clones have already been produced using them. And two are still currently available.
68k chips would not be the way to go on a new machine since they are already getting too expensive. Coldfire may be the answer and we should see next year when the chip and the computer are released.
