Of course we can try to assist you.
But for upgrading purposes, i recommend you rather get a Falcon than an STE.
You can drive the Falcon's resolutions up to 1280x960 monochrome and 1024x768 in 16 colours with just a plug-in screen extension, it handles IDE- and SCSI harddisks without additional hardware, it can handle partitions up to 1 GB without additional software.
The only limit that is harder to break is the 14 MB memory limit, but 14 MB are still a lot more than the 4 MB of the STE.
