Ok Scot, the Falcon is in the same case as an STE.
The chances are, that unless you were lucky, a Falcon would cost you well over £200, I know that £500 is not an uncommon price they go for, and I have heard of far more than that!
I myself would not pay more than £150 for them, they are utterly shittily unreliable, just look how many people are saying oh my falcon has dies or I have a problem with this or that, I have just got rid of a wank Falcon myself, so while they are the best Atari Machine there is, they are just not worth the asking price...
If you want an STE, then they are not really too much better than an FM for most things!
Ok, DMA Sound is great, and far better than the FM, but then, you could use something like Stereo Replay that will come close ( Still not a patch on the STEs DMA though ) if you want Stereo Modules to play.
Anyway, You have the offer of the RAMS off flash, go for them, I have a spares STE here you are welcome to. The Floppy Drive works ok, but the button has gone missing, so it needs somethign done there. and the PSU needs some Attention - more than likely a fuse is all it needs, but I really cannot be arsed to check it... I will do if you want me to! - the case is also a bit on the shagged side, but its clean, ( lie ) and the mainboard is very very reliable otherwise!
It would be a good idea to just use a PC PowerSupply instead of wasting your money on a crappy Atari one.
