Man, thats rough. Windows is crap cos its unstable, and thats not just because of the fact that all PC's and assoc' harware is not entirely 100% compatible.
Linux is certainly not crap. If you knew enough about Linux to qualify that statement you would certainly agree.
I run my internet gateway off linux. Not only does it provide me with a fast NAT'ed internal network, its also my web/FTP server, and FYI its running on a 8 yr old 486 dx2-66 with 24mb RAM.

Oh, and BTW linux is still free.
