I have noted that people shuder when you mention "emulate".
I also agree that progresion from a CPU that is dead is well over due, it is a shame that no one took up the rains (like they have with the Z80).
Maybe people should use phrases like;
Software translator
Instruction Translating BIOS
Software Medium for Hardware (I like that)
CPU go-between
Low Level application interface
etc, etc
Maybe there should be a standard, remember that a PC is really an IBM Compatible, could we not have a Falcon Compatible Standard do define a clone (FCS), with maybe levels (FCS1, FCS2), etc. One being kind of ST compatible and Two being Videl, DSP, etc, maybe even a bit of test code.
