Thoughtful words, indeed.
Well, donīt misunderstand me too much
-What I say is that stuff made for x86
simply donīt fit into a TOS machine...
AND it isnīt NEEDED either! I promise.
And new CPUs with different instr set
will require heavy emulation = slowdown,
OR a completely new OS and new APPs.
All these wonderful programs, once written
for the Atari, would be for the bin then...
What I wanna do, is a 100% Atari compatible
machine, though with USB/Ethernet/MP3/SPEED...
Adding NEW stuff wouldnīt hurt compatibility.
(but adding incompatible stuff would)
Then we can finally live up to the
"power without the price" slogan. :)
Canīt see how this can be so hard to understand?
Anyway, why draw a line? You mean USB or
Ethernet or even Harddrives are PESE stuff
just because they have it? All newer machines
have all that stuff, itīs not pese specific.
Macintosh have pci, are they peseīs then?
Get me right now -Iīm not against pese stuff
(well, yes I am)I just dont want incompatible
stuff to mess up a real good computer system.
Especially when thereīs no NEED for them...
OK, hereīs for those clones;
I donīt hate them. I just wouldnīt pay that
kinda money for a machine that canīt run my
favourite apps. Not many ppl would, I think?
So I start projecting one that CAN, instead. :)
