Oops, I just half answered this to Flash!

Ah well, you will all get to read it anyway.

Yup, I cannot write an OS that will talk to the card straight off ...YET!

I am trying the most simple DOS ideas though, to get it as basic as I can

I have done some mess abouts, and I can access the card, and I can access the ROMS enough to know what ROM they are, but again, this is only done through Windows, so I am defeating the idea there!

Ok, you asked about TT roms through MSDOS

Y'know, I dont actually know if they do?

I have tried the TT ROMS under Win98, and they work... they work bloody well too

I will get them back out over the weekend, and give them a try... Unless someone has already tried them of course... ANYONE?

The trouble is though, that the best way to use the GEMulator card, is through Windows... its a crap thought, but its the facts... I am delving deeper into the GEMulator programs though, and I will see what needs to be done... Shit, if I could write the whole GEMulator program over, I would do... but I will be realistic here... I can even write my name anymore, never mind writing a totally new GEMCard driver!!!

Also remember that this is NOT any kind of attempt at crteating some kind of NEW ATARI or Clone... its not even any kind of replacement to GEMulator.

Its purely something that I would like to see where I can get a good Atari Emulator ( I use the word Emulator properly, as this is what it is ) that actually does emulate an atari properly...

Of course,

if I could boot up with TOS using the card, I would be half way there...

If I was able to access any PC cards when it booted into DOS, I would be half way there

If I could access the PC Disks properly under TOS, I would be half way there...

The list goes on

Dont say bugger all about 3 halves ok!

AS it is, I have got my own card to boot from DOS, or in Windows, and I have got TT Medium res, just the same as normal GEMulator.

Oh, I have also come across a small problem with higher number of colours!

The best the the VGA programs have, is 16 colours, and going by what I can tell, ( like I said, I aint a PC programmer ) the reason why this is so, is because a PC can do 640x480x16 as standard, so it does not need any kind of specialised drivers... 16 colours is a basic requirement for ALL pc Video Cards, although the screen resolution is allowed up to 1600x1200, and this is not a standard without drivers of course, butI will get round that soon...

I have re-written a VGA driver and it definitely DOES work and give me 256 colours ( 640x480 ), but it is not yet working.
