Mine were well under £500.
The advantage of the BJL is that it is MUCH cheaper.

The advantage of the Alpine is simply that it has significantly improved debugging. Personally i would not want to be without it.

Fear not about programming the Jaguar it is not so hard as people claim, but it is time consuming.

I have 3 Jags, both my PAL jags have green LED, my NTSC has red, it would not seem unreasonable to think that yours may be NTSC but i cannot be sure that all red LED machines were NTSC.

In fact i had a Jag a while ago which only worked on my TV in SECAM mode (French which is odd because they claimed that the French Jags had no RF output, but this one did) and that too had a red LED and was not NTSC.
