SB soundbanks sucks, I know what you mean.
I have a Roland rack sampler, and Rhodes 660 KB,
but I use some sounds from the SBīs sometimes. :)
When/if that loasy amd works, that is... :(
(yes, SBīs. AWE64PNP + SB32 something)
The 64 has two 30 pin SIMM slots, for samples
I guess, and its own IDE. Wish CAF could use them...

SB drivers:
> if they did run, they would not do anything
Nope, but they would run on the TOSter then.
Only trying to find out what we have or not..
> Yes, CAF will run on almost anything
-I wish it could run under a multitasking OS,
then I could have it on the Quadra 800 ;)
BTW, what OS did you run CAF on? MilanTOS?
> Records & plays at same time?
Didnīt mean so, really. First record some
tracks, (I usually use 2 or 3 tracks for guitars)
THEN replay it all at the same time. If CAF
can do that on a Milan without DSP, well...:)
CAF canīt use many of a SBīs features, no.
Cubase VST24 has tons of features not seen in
CAF, but itīs a newer proggie. Everything you
can do with a SB can be done with a 56309 too,
and much more, though much faster. :)
The problem is, we donīt have the software yet.
We canīt take any chanses -gotta keep the DSP.
btw
Got a mail from a young Atari hacker today,
says he can do an 200MHZ VIDEL copy for us.
Iīm more than willing to say YES THANX!!
-depends on the price, I think...?
