Those atari's are pretty durable when it comes to being stored. My 400 came from a basment where it was stored for 15 years. I actually used a leaf blower outside to blow the dust off of it. Then took it apart and blew the inside out. As long as nothing can be seen inside the cartridge connector I would just take a combat cart and soak the edge down with 91% isopropyl and stick it in a few times :)
Instead of the switchbox you can use an RCA to F connector adapter. The output of the 2600 is 75 ohm anyway.
