Annoyingly, I mostly use an old 386 just as a firewall, I will be honest, but I didnt realise just how important it was to me until I took it down, and just had the direct connection a few months ago.
I have put the firewall back up ( Not connected still though ) and I ran through the logs, and it seems that I had been hit 35 times from Jan 1st 200 up until Aug 15th.
I really need to either get it sorted, and use that again, or simply go back to Linux, but the last time I used Linux, I was doing somethign wrong, because BT was charging me?
Another sore point for me, is that most of the good program demos are win9x or NT and I use 2000. The NT ones more often than not, wont work on my version of 2000 for some reason, so I cannot fairly give them a proper test without them disabling at least something.
I currently have InocculateIT, AVP Gold, and Panda, and again, while AVP Gold is supposed to be the full program, I even have the serial number, it didnt ask for it duing the install, and it has no way to enter it now, nor can I register it online, and so thats also crippled in some way too!!!???
Bloody Windows software, what a pile of crap.
Anyway, I really need to get BT Internet sorted for Linux properly, I can finally ditch this pile of utter shyte that microsoft have the nerve to call an O/S.
Until then, I will be working on finding out why the firewall wont go anymore, and using the antivirus software
