James Boulton is currently making a .ST and .MSA Explorer extension for Windows. This will allow you (in windows) to drag and drop files into disk images, as though they were just Directories on your hard drive.

This has already been done with the Amiga ADF disk images and I guess was the inspiration for the idea.

Ask JimB if it is near completion, or perhaps work on a MAC version yourself.

You could always ask the author of NoSTalgia to create a similar program. I think to a MAC GUI/DESKTOP programmer such a program would be very quick to prototype.
