For sure, I just think there are some undefined lines when it comes down to it that is all.
Maybe if I put it like this, I do not care to much about what the hardware is but I do want it to be as compatable as possible.
However I would like a Motorola CPU of some kind, but then anything other than a 68030 would need emulation (even a 68060 for some minor differances).
Seeing as no one has made a 680?0 for some time I would see us investing in a dead line of CPU, at some point we need to realise that migration to a new CPU is needed (there are simply limitations with this old tech). It is a shame that someone else did not do a 680?0 which would run real fast (like with the Z80s).
Maybe the ColdFire, what is poeples thoughts on that CPU?
