Ok keep you all posted? - thats very much what I am trying to do!

Just check out the sodding times!! - I have been up all night getting this thing sorted, looking on the net etc, etc, etc

Ok, the card has 9 pin D-Type connection, and the monitors have 15 Pin D-Type, its a simple matter of knowing which wire goes where, on which pins. I already have all the parts, so why spend any money on buying one thats already built ( plus the cost of getting to there, plus time etc ) when I can do the job in about 10 minutes! - anyway, its done now.

I only did this just to make 100% sure that the adapter was

A:- Exactly what the original was - and no pins were swapped over - you can never be too sure when you buy something like this

B:- working! - i was not too sure that any wires might be faulty, at least now I know that I have the right cable, with the right wiring etc

Anyway, I must thank Rory McMahon who has just sent me some drivers for it.

Annoyingly though, the fixed, and compatible drivers do not work, but the original shagged one does!!! - bugger.

I now have v1.6 that does let me get to the desktop, it does not like NVDI, or Magic, but as you just said, MiNT seems to like it no bother, and of course CuBase tried to write to the TT screen, not this one!

Funnily enough I had a laugh about that because any kind of Blitting to the screen, goes to the TT Screen, not this one!

Now, this is what is getting to me now, apart from the speed which is disgusting, its only 16 colours!!! what bloody use is that? I was told it would be 256 colours 800x600 but it is not. Am I missing something or do I need different drivers or what? - the issue of the monitor is not too much trouble as I have enough of them anyway, and I can easily adapt Superboot to how I work, and what configs I want, but why bother if its only going to give me exactly what I have anyway, but lose NVDI and run like a fart?

I am pretty disgusted at myself for wasting money on it to be honest, now I have seen what it is, and how would anyone want to waste money on it now they know how crap it is, is beyond me.

No, dont get me wrong here...

If it does do 256 colours as I was led to beleive, then I would downgrade to MiNT ( hehe ) I can live with a slow screen, as most of what I do is web pages/ Word Processing etc, which does not need speed per-se, I can use Speedo to give me the fonts back of course ( I have not actually tried speedo though ). But as thigns are, I will just take the card out and sore it away, I wont throw it, because I know how much I missed a graphics card when the CrazyDots died, so I know that many people probably would fall into the same trap as me, and like I am, I wont dare con anybody into paying over the odds for it - I will probably give it away.

I know how old the thing is, but surely it should work on the machine it was designed for???

Now, wheres the GEMulator CD gone!
