If ParcP is what you like, then nothing anyone says will change that, and as ParcP does a great job, why bother listening to what anyone says?
CD is a great option, it means I dont have to powerdown the machines of course, and with HD I do! however, its very time consuming, and/or I waste a CD.
If I use CDRW, then I am stuck on 2x or 4x depending on which Disks I use, and CDR will waste another Disk, yes I know they are dirt cheap, but still, I cant be arsed wasting them too much.
Parallel copying is also far too slow for large chunks, unless of course every time I do it, I am doing something wrong?
Saying that, the last time I did do it, was about 2 or maybe even 3 years ago... Maybe its changed now, but I doubt it.
What is the actual speed you are having?
I am sure mine was about 6 or 7 times faster than serial according to docs etc, but it felt a damned sight faster than that!
Bugger it, I am going to give it another try later on.
