Sorry Pieter you a little mis-informed.
Let say you bought an A3000 in 1990. Nowadays you would have been able to upgrade this oldie to an all professional PPC Workstation.
* You can use a G3/G4 (400 mhz+) upgrade card in the near future.
* integration of 400Mbit/s FireWire ports
* Ultra SCSI
* up to 1 GB main memory, by use of standard SDRAM modules (PC-100 type)
* PCI-Bridge-Connector
* 1MB fast Backside-Cache
Now get your 1990 PC and try to do the same. LOL
The Amiga was the first computer that was really good expandable. (You could even upgrade your 1987 A2000 to reasonable modern specs!!! graphic cards, processors, sound cards etc)
