SCARED?! Hey, donīt be!
Jinnee is one of the most user-friendliest
APP Iīve ever seen. Itīs very welldocumented
and configurable into every atom, but in a
very easy-to-understand way. You should try it,
I consider MagiC not complete without Jinnee,
and Iīm sure you will agree, once youīve tried it out.
Hey, BTW:
Iīm actually running Netscape Navigator gold3
under MagiC/Jinne, rigth now. ;o) Itīs phun.
Itīs almost pity this only work with MACīs,
cos Iīd like Irfanview 3.51 under MagiC...
I found that there is some kinda translator,
which can make win apps run on MACīs,
so maybe I can run IW on Jinnee after all...
Would run very slow and jerky tho.
I DLīed OPERA for MAC, but it can only run on
ppcīs, so I tried nn instead, on the Centris 610.
(can someone write a ppc-emulator for me??:)
> "I know how to use TOS & Windows 95 and that is about it."
So? Iīm not very much more experienced than
you, and since you want to start a usergroup,
I thought this opportunity should suit you?
Name of the page: "MagiCMAC for dummies" (?)
Authors: USERS who want to learn, NOT experts.
Director: one of these users...
Works for me.
You can write, thatīs all it takes.
If the members of the usergroup start sending
you loads of info on MagiC, then there you
have all material you need for the articles.
But hey, donīt feel pushed.
If you donīt want to, I can ask someone else?
> "I downloaded Magicpc and have been very impressed."
(?)
>"I very much like what I have seen of magic."
Hmm, and you have only seen Mpc? Just wait. :o)
The REAL thing is nothing like Mpc, promise.
I have that too, on an old amd166, and itīs
a snail, not even that, in comparision!
This is because MagiC and TOS was written to
run on 68K CPUs, and all CPU emulation stinks.
I think my Quadra 800 must lead the 68K world
championship in LZHīing up/down stuff QUICK.
I have got it one step further to the final
goal of running at 66MHZ, It goes very well at 50.
Now I must replace some more chips, first...
>"...access disk drives which I cannot do via the desktop."
Yes, that reminds me: MagiCMAC has always had
problems with the MAC file system, thus APPs
like IMGcopy canīt save its INF file, and we
havenīt been able to use Atari disk proggies,
like Diamond Edge or DADE.(THE best ones)
I have worked out a nice little trick, to let
every program access C:/ without any fuss.
Itīs just like if it was running on an Atari :)
(kinda proud of it, hehe)
Itīs all on the page, with screenshots.
Oh well, now Iīm hungry...
Have a good night
