As you're already been told, GEMBench is not a reliable benchmark, especially not in a multitasking environment.

I have both MiNT and MagiC (6.01 IIRC) on my TT, and I can't say that this is true in my case. MagiC appears to have a slightly faster GUI, but it's not faster than MiNT/N.AES when loading and executing applications. If MiNT/N.AES is dramatically slower than MagiC on your TT, there must be something odd about your MiNT-setup. More information (mint.cnf, n_aes.cnf, autofolder, desktop etc) would be helpful here.

Flamebait? ;-)

This is one area where FreeMiNT easily outruns MagiC on my TT... I see you have HD-Driver 7.5, this is XHDI-compliant so this should not be the problem. Have you enabled the writeback-cache in mint.cnf? With this disabled things will normally be just as slow as TOS.

Hmm, no long filenames? Odd... Have you checked with FSetter that NEWFATFS and VFAT really is enabled? I'd really like to take a closer look at your setup to see what's wrong.

Well, under GEMulator this will obviously be slow, because AFAIK there's no XHDI-compliant driver for it. The slowness on the TT is almost certainly caused by the cache and/or NEWFATFS being disabled.
