Hey, congratulations to a tasteful chiose.
Enjoy your Falc. :o)
So, letīs see what do we have here...
Backwards compatibility can be a issue,
but there are several options/solutions.
Some ST games will not run on a machine
with more than 1MB of RAM. Including STīs.
Then you put a little program in the AUTO
folder, that makes the computer believe
that it has 1MB, half MB or whatever.
Ultimem, Make_1MB or Railroad are good ones.
Most ST games wonīt run on a VGA screen,
you will have to connect a TV or RGB monitor.
There are also several programs that tries to
make the Falc more backward compatible, like
just "Backward" or noSTal. I donīt know how
good they work tho, since I never played ST
games on my Falc. I used it for making music
in my studio, and for advanced graphix with
superproggies like Apex Media...
Dunno if there are any limits for harddrives?
I had four 1GB SCSI drives on my Falc,
and one 850MB 3.5" IDE. Never any problems.
There is one rule to watch up for, tho:
The bigger partitions, the bigger clusters.
One cluster can easily rush up to 16 or even 32KB!
Then, thereīs no point having big harddrives...
Hope this will help.
