GEMDOS has an initial limit of 4 partitions, howver, Atari addressed this problem and with AHDI 4 and greater (I believe) it's possible to write extended partitions into the final partition slot, practically leaving unlimited partitions (I had C - G on my STE which is 5, although I eventually sacrificed one for MacOS with Spectre GCR)
The software will take care of this for you automatically. Try to use AHDI 6.00 or better, it has greater support for the F030's in-built IDE I/F. Grab it from my webspace at http://www.geocities.com/shalroth/ahdi6061.zip.
My preferred Falcy set up is with a 500MB-ish IDE drive internally for apps, and a 1GB external SCSI for D2D stuff. Cluster size ain'y a problem when you're recording digital audio since I can only get 7 or 8 files on the disc before it fills up ;-)
