 Subject: RE: DSP Programming

Thanks for the help chaps, I will have a look through all of that at the weekend.

I can see me needing help with this, I have a number of things I need to do.

Basicly I want to collect a lot of data from the DSP serial port, compress in realtime and then pass to the data to the CPU or main memory for it to save it to disk.

The data is sampled speech and music, and will be constant (i.e. must be able to do it for hours not 10 minutes).

Can the DSP pass data to the main memory or will it need to go via the CPU (i.e. is it DMA)?

Is it possible for the DSP to signal the CPU of events (i.e. an interupt)?

Thanks again.

Elliot...
