Are you sure?

DE =input on U502/GSTSHFTR (Shifter)
DE =generated on U501/GSTMCU (Glue??)

Hsync/Vsync is also available on U501.
Can't I just cut the wire between U502 and U501 and feed a new DE signal to U502 generated from Hsync/Vsync on U501?
